Application

Primary power and distribution circuits in industrial and commercial installations, power circuits in generating plants where line to ground fault current are within shield capabilities. May be used in wet or dry locations, installed in underground, duct, or direct burial.

Standards:

UL 1072 Medium Voltage Power Cables.
ICEA S-94-649 5 kV – 46 kV Shielded Power Cables.
AEIC CS8 Standard for Utility Shielded Power Cables Rated 5 kV – 46 kV.

• 5 kV to 46 kV 100% and 133% IL Maximum conductor operation temperatures:
Wet and dry locations
• Normal: 105 °C
• Emergency: 140 °C
• Short Circuit: 250 °C

Optional

1. Sealed conductor with strand filled compound passes the production water penetration tests per ICEA-T-31-610 at 15 psi for 60 minutes.
2. Dual sealed cable (Strand Filled on conductor and Neutral wires) meets the water penetration requirements in accordance with ICEA-T-34-664.

Soft annealed uncoated copper compressed Class B per ASTM B496 or hard drawn Aluminum-1350 compressed Class B per ASTM B400.
Conductor Shield:
Semi conducting cross-linked polyethylene compound (XLPE compound).
Insulation:
Thermoset crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE). or TR-XLPE.
Insulation Shield:
Semi conducting cross-linked polyethylene compound (XLPE compound).
Metallic Shield:
Solid soft annealed copper wires per ASTM B3, helically applied and uniformly spaced. Or copper tape shield.
Jacket:
Extruded to fill, Black sunlight resistant linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), with three Red Stripes. Or PVC.
